The Kootenai River Development Council (KRDC) is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit providing economic and community development services to south Lincoln County, Montana. The Kootenai River Development Council cultivates community health and economic growth by providing leadership in project development and access to local, state and federal resources.
The mission of the Kootenai River Development Council, Inc. is to promote community and economic development in south Lincoln County by facilitating infrastructure improvements and the county's desirability as a place to live and work. The Kootenai River Development Council, Inc. is led by a council of volunteer Board members representing interests of the local communities.

As stated in the Bylaws the role of the organization is as such:
- To create an awareness of community and economic concerns and strategies by conducting community assessments, surveys and meetings.
- To support the efforts to service organizations, residents and existing institutions in meeting business and community needs.
- To assist with efforts to promote the business, industrial, educational and recreational potential of South Lincoln County.
- To assist business retention and development.
- To assist local, state and federal government in the consideration of laws, regulations and policies which promote a healthy business climate and the development of south Lincoln County infrastructure
